Confide

Confide is a community platform for people who want to talk, hang out, and build communities without giving up their privacy. Text, voice, servers, and file sharing all protected with post-quantum cryptography. Free, open source, and built with care.

Create encrypted group chats for up to 15 people. Voice calls stay private from end to end. Share files up to 100 MB, encrypted on your device. Make your profile yours and share what you're listening to.

Create guilds for your community on your own terms. Self-host with Docker and be running in minutes. Here is what chatting in Confide looks like:

We can't read your messages. This is not a promise. It is how the system works. Our servers only store ciphertext they cannot decrypt.

Self-host if you want, or use our hosted option. Either way, your conversations stay yours. Fully auditable, open source, and GDPR-ready.

Frequently asked

Yes. Every feature is available to every user. We are open source and self-funded, so there are no paid tiers hidden behind the product.

Messages, calls, and files are encrypted on your device before they are sent. Our servers only handle ciphertext and cannot turn it back into readable content. We also use post-quantum cryptography to protect against future threats.

It is a widely trusted protocol for secure messaging. Confide uses PQXDH key agreement with Double Ratchet so sessions keep rotating keys and stay hard to compromise.

Each message uses a new key that is quickly replaced. If one key is ever exposed, it should not unlock the rest of your conversation history.

No. We do not have your encryption keys, and our infrastructure is designed so that message content stays unreadable to us.

Your encrypted messages cannot be recovered. That can feel strict, but it is part of what makes true end-to-end privacy real.

Only what is needed to run your account: username, email, hashed password, and any optional profile details you choose to add. No tracking and no ad analytics.
